MPs Visit Euston Station

MPs from the West Coast Main Line All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) visited Euston station today to learn about planned short and long-term improvements.

The MPs were briefed by Amanda Webster-Uz, the new Head of Euston Station Operations, and by the Euston Partnership on the measures which are being introduced to improve passenger flows on the main concourse and on boarding trains. The most obvious feature is the new electronic train information board which has replaced the electronic advertising, but numerous other changes have been made. MPs noted that the station now feels a much better place, although further tweaks are still required.

The MPs then moved to the nearby HS2 Ltd offices, where they were joined by the Rail Minister Lord Hendy, for a briefing on the new HS2 Euston station which is under development. The briefing included a visit to the roof for a view across the main worksite.

West Coast Rail 250 was pleased to assist the visit in its role as secretariat to the APPG.
