Grand Central confirmed on 24 June plans to operate services between Blackpool North and London Euston starting in Spring 2020. The services will run under “open access” arrangements, and were approved by the Office of Rail and Road in June 2018.
Grand Central is planning to operate five services in each direction per day Monday to Saturday, with four services on Sundays. Trains will have intermediate stops at Poulton-le-Fylde, Kirkham & Wesham, Preston, Nuneaton and Milton Keynes Central. The fastest journey time between Blackpool and London will be 3 hours and 8 minutes.
